    @Benesyed Really good if you size down one. I got a 45 and a 44 and returned the 45. I’m a US12
    Tbf I haven’t had them topyd yet though so only wore them 3 times.

    Hmm what size are you in gats and side zips and is the foot narrow on the jils?

    @Benesyed I wear a 45 in gats but ideally I’d take a 45.5 if it existed.
    And I don’t find the Jil to be narrow.

    I have wide feet so I was thinking 45 in the Jill. The gats were too narrow I thought in 45.

    @Benesyed yeah, my 45 Gats are a bit too short in length and narrower than ideal. But the 46s were too big, that’s why I said 45.5 would be my size if it existed.
    It’s up to you man.
    I’m pretty sure we both have those same Lemaire loafers/slippers and I’m a 45 in them and it’s a pretty good fit.

    Gats do exist in half sizes, although I can't say I remember seeing a 45.5 specifically.

    Yeah the half sizes stop at 44.5, which is the case for most shoes unfortunately.

    A few weeks ago I broached the subject of firefighter chic. And the other day GQ declared it to be A Thing! "Fireman Jackets Are an On-Fire Menswear Trend Now" https://www.gq.com/story/fireman-jackets-are-an-on-fire-menswear-trend-now Apparently "four labels showing in Europe for the Fall-Winter 2018 season have debuted fireman-inspired jackets: Heron Preston, Undercover, Louis Vuitton, and Junya Watanabe..." Then Calvin Klein took it further with lots of fire gear in their New York Fashion Week show. Apparently this will be the basis of some RTW stuff in the Fall/Winter collection:

    [IMG]

    We've had firefighter's jackets before from Ralph Lauren, Supreme and others - they all look like vintage jackets, with plain, matt fabric and lots of big lobster-claw clips:

    [IMG]

    The new jackets on the catwalks look more modern, with day-glo stripes:

    [IMG]

    Will the RTW stuff really keep the stripes? I haven't found any on the web yet. It's hard to imagine, though I did see a guy on a seriously pimped Harley the other day in London, wearing what looked like a genuine London Fire Brigade suit:

    [IMG]

    The Calvin Klein show had some aluminized gear, which I think is a first. The aluminized suits, known in the trade as proximity gear, are for extra hot fires. You see them at air crashes:

    Here are some looks from the CK show:

    As for what to buy, I suppose everyone here will say No Thanks. But I like some of the genuine jackets - I'd much rather have the real thing than one of the fashion items. I bought this vintage one recently:

    And I'm on the lookout for a proximity jacket, something like this:
