@sipang yeah I’m a Lemaire fan so it would be those or nothing, and I only like that cream suede colour.

Ok I'd pass on them then, color is nice but it'll get grimey really quick

@dieworkwear Nah I'm pretty sure they were almost black when new, if anything they turned lighter with wear. Maybe it's the dark brown-tinted glasses of nostalgia

    edit: yep

hah, beware of nostalgia! I believe Clarks makes a rubber composite sole for some models, so maybe that was it. I like the look of new crepe, but after 3 wears it's grody. I've always found Wallabee type shoes with the big lake and square toes to be too crunchy, granola, hippie for my liking. But something clicked recently and I just took a chance on a pair of the Padmore Barnes version. We'll see.

There are certain fits, where the Wallabee is called for imo. I’ve had a few pairs, but currently wear the sand lows occasionally.

How did you size the Padmore Barnes Wallabees? They definitely look like a step up in quality from the Clarks version.

People say TTS -- or same size as Clarks. But as far as I can tell, P&B just does whole UK sizes. I am 8.5 in Clarks DB and purchased 8UK. But it was online and I just bought them yesterday. So, I'll report back when they arrive. Yes, from what I've read, the P&B is the original Irish manufacturer for Clarks and they are higher quality than the recent Clarks. Oh yeah also, you're a slave to the money then you die.

Yes, if you don't mind I be interested in your thoughts on a P&B/Clarks comparison (quality & fit) once they arrive. I'm a 9.5 so I'd be in the same half size situation as yourself.

Nice spotting on the Wallys! I haven't seen that video in years and actually like that leather he's wearing there too.

Nice verve reference. I had a bunch of Wallys/redlands due to Richard Ashcroft and at height of Britpop. Now it’s back...means I’m old

I've been eyeballing the tan suede originals at End for a few months now. I still remember getting my first (and only, as it happened) pair of Wallabees when I was around 8 or so - I was so stoked. That was the first time I had a new pair of shoes that I was so into, I was hesitant to wear them the first time and mess them up.

I find that wallabees age better than desert boots. Desert boots tend to lose their shape in the vamp as they break in.

best thing about owning Clarks is you get to put on your shoes while listening to this dancehall hit

Ordered those beige suede Lemaire x Clarks....

    Also considering this:

Collarless flannel shirt, I would get a size up and wear it more like an overshirt, but I've been really turned off by Margiela lately so I dunno.

The jacket? I'm not a big fan logos on the forearms, but I could also see how that may be a feature to some. I like the color blocks.
