Those Homme Plisse are actually surprisingly easy to wear, although I think they work better with hi tops (chucks, mercurials, magistrates...) than any of the lows you mentioned.

I personally not a huge fan of high tops for some reason, so I got 0 high tops. What kind of clothing recommended wearing on the top? Oversized?

Out of curiosity, has anyone ever tried to clean those Homme Plisse jackets/coats? Wonder how the cleaners handle the pleating, other than trying to press them flat.

Homme Plisse sounds like what you say when you get into a cab drunk.

    Taxi driver: "Where to?"
    Me, slurring: "Homme plisse ..."

Which aesthetic or demographic rules this thread? Is it thirty-something aspirational knowledge-workers in New York? I don't know, I'm just guessing. I'm a middle-aged creative in London and some of the issues here are surprising to me. I enjoy the thread because it gives an insight into the concerns of the modern American. At least, I think it does.

I like the classic ones with the perf as they're a lot more breathable, easy to hose down after gardening, etc. but it's hard to deny the appeal of the flames that you can get on those close-toed joints

From a functionality standpoint, your making a valid case for the classics.

Flavortown is a state of mind.

In case you've never read any of this guy's posts on the leather jacket thread, you do not want to hear his insights.

I'm pretty sure it's fake dog poo. Either that or unintentional troll posts.
