1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    yes it is terrible

    and the shoes

    and the dumpy sweater

and that preppygirl mannequin in the background, collectively not good.

the fit model looks like he is pooching out his abdomen, overall not flattering.

Oops, I just skimmed his post, I thought he was the one wearing it.

I imagine the real model is this guy:

New CP combat boots or used Julius? Don't really have the wardrobe for the Julius but they look cool. Any other alternatives? Durability preferred. Thanks.

Don't buy the Julius unless you have stuff to wear it with or plan on getting stuff to wear it with. Spending a ton of money on boots with a very specific aesthetic without actually subscribing to that aesthetic doesn't make sense to me. Wouldn't buy the CPs at retail either, have owned them and they're only okay for the price you pay. Would prefer a pair of boots from a real shoemaker instead of a sneaker company with weird gold lettering stamped on it

Did some more homework, I understand non made in USA frye's are terrible but I honestly can't find any other black boots with the same silhouette:

    SLP lace-ups:

    Frye combat boots:

Frye distressed lace-ups, I understand these will probably be cheap and shitty but they're like 1/4 the price of the SLPs.

Also looked at Tricker Burford (too dressy), some random yoox/farfetch, etc ones, all either weird looking or too pricey. I'm wearing these with black jeans and a black lined merino or some other black or grey bomber/jacket.

^look at common projects, n.d.c., moma, buttero, 10sei0otto, etc. lots of good mid-tier brands out there that make something relatively similar.

Boring and overpriced for a hoodie sans hood ($155 plus $12 shipping at End)

Or delightfully minimal and not a bad price for made in Portugal End Clothing/Our Legacy collab?

Would wear with dark wash jeans, GATs and a black T, probably.

    Thanks.

I know defending Frye on Styleforum isn't the cool thing to do, but here we go:

My experience with Frye (even the made in Mexico ones) is that they aren't cheap and shitty, just overpriced at full msrp. The leather quality and construction are much more similar to what you'd get from those mid-tier brands than from any of the garbage you'd fine in the $100-200 range at a department store. It's pretty easy to find Frye on sale for less than $200, and you can't say that about the other ones, except maybe Moma when they sit on yoox for too long and they happen to have your size in something you want.

^i agree, i used to wear them a lot. i would get several years out of them. i'd never pay full price but on sale you could do a lot worse.

TTS on Frye; size down on Moma.

Speaking of, it looks like there is a decent collection of Moma on yoox now, but the 30% sale just ended.

Unless you've significantly changed your style since your last fit pic, I don't see those pants going well for you bro

I have a fair amount of Visvim pieces and it seems the only thing Visvim goes with is more Visvim.
Ugghhh, my wardrobe is two vastly different styles I think I need to decide what style I want to wear and just sell the rest.
