I like the second pair, but I can't help but think that a good chunk of the price is for the MMM label. I wish there was some way to tell what brands on Yoox are actually decent as opposed to just being marked-up garbage.

Also, I thought the CP combat boots (or whatever they're calling them) looked pretty good in product photos, not so good there, maybe the color is off.

If I may ask, did you go with your regular CP size? :embar: I thought all CPs were sized the same until I tried on the toe-crushing CP x Geller side-zips.

One of the things I want to get my parents is a new pepper mill. Theirs is really nice but it's over 30 years old and they've expressed to me that it's a little "tired"

I figure you guys here know a lot about nice kitchen stuff. Where should I be looking? I want to get them one that is wooden and "full size" so it's close to the one they had before; I don't want to get some futuristic pepper dildo or something.

I've been looking at some Peugeot ones and this seems to be close to what I'm looking for, but I'm not sure that I like the light color of the beech. Maybe this one in Cherry?

If they like quirky stuff, maybe they would be down with an Alessi or something like that. Otherwise, a Peugeot gets the job done.

I did not know that pepper mills could get so expensive, what makes a wooden one better than a plastic one?

Functionally, probably not much aside from the types of adjustability in any nicer one. I just wanted to get them one that was adjustable and was very close stylistically to their old one. Wood just fits in since it stays out on the counter next to the knife block, and I'd like it to look nicer then a plastic McCormick grinder would sitting out in the open.

I also kind of wanted to avoid running into like williams sonoma and grabbing whatever they had, so I figured I would ask if Peugeot was any good and it seems like it will be just fine.

Heard good things about the Vic Firth pepper mills, but the designs themselves arent super exciting. Maybe if your parents are into drums tho

Looks ok from the front, but I don't like the details on the back. Dunno, maybe it looks better worn, but I'd pass.

Found a fitpic of the back; I think the giant zipper is cool looking personally but I'd just be afraid I'd change my mind on it later.

More of a "What else is there like this?"

I ordered the Red Wings GT in black, but they don't come in a wide. I'm hoping they fit but probably will not. I can do White's customs, but would want the boots sooner than that..

So..something that look like that, black, come in EE.

    Thoughts>?
