1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I kinda agree that the TOJ lamb is glossy and thick, despite being soft, and therefore it gives a classical vibe that could be bikerish in certain designs. If you don't want this, I highly recommend the new TOJ goatskin. It's thinner, lighter, more matte, and has a slightly distressed feel. Would be great in a double rider type design.

Need a pair of minimalist black derbies and Rafs will have to wait until deep sale. These look like they have a really nice shape and I like the blistered (?) effect on the leather. Assuming they're high quality and potentially water resistant given the brand. Also, good price. Eh?

I say yes, just because I also saw those on Yoox and was curious about how they fared in person. Worth a shot!

I am sure we all have that shoe sitting in our Dreambox

No one has pulled the trigger though. So, think about that first.

How is distressed suede different exactly from blistered leather? I'm a bit confused on that I guess.

Either way, will prolly grab them in a week or so, maybe wait for another small drop

From my experience, that kind of suede is suede with a coating applied to give it the 'burnished' look. Coincidentally, this comes off if some drunk chick spills her rum and coke on the left toe of your new pair of burnished suede shoes and you try to clean it. For example. Whereas I think that blistered leather is actually leather with some type of chemical applied to crack it, so it's not suede at all. The definitely handle very differently.

The description says it's "split leather" whatever that means. From what I've experienced with MOMA, they do coat their shoes and my coating has yet to come off, 6 months later. Still really waterproof

Also this, for my hidden placket needs:

Those look nice, if that is the kind of thing you are after. And they are dirt cheap, and unlikely to get much cheaper. Get them. Yoox has el cheapo return policy, so you win win win. I hear that they run 1 size large but have no personal experience w/ that.
