http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824009127 Acer 19" widescreen. 16.7 million DCs, impressive for a monitor in this price range. Max res is 1680 x 1050. Should I cop? It would eat up the remainder of my meager clothing/entertainment budget for the next few weeks but my 1990's CRT is just so awful.

Do it Conne. It's dirt cheap for a 19" and your eyes will thank you for moving to an LCD.

If you don't already have a DVI video card, you'll have to get one of those, too, because that monitor has no analog inputs.

^^He's right, but he shouldn't be. I guess that cheaped out on the 19. My Acer monitor has 1 DVI and one VGA input, I use it to switch between a console and my computer. You can see it in the Specs tab.

I have an older 6800. I don't think it has digital outputs but I may be wrong.

conne, maybe you can get a better deal, im pretty sure you can get a similar or better 19 inch at a lower price

It is small, actually. If he can at least step it up to a 20-21" he'd be much better off imo. I am so much happier at work with 22s. i can have my sql server and a bunch of remote desktop connections open on one monitor with visual studio open on the other. It's also far easier on my eyes.
