Should I get these jeans tapered? =P

They are AG Hero.

I have to get them hemmed/shortened anyway, but was thinking about removing maybe a 1/2" from the mid-thigh and taper to removing an inch or so at the leg opening. What do you think about that plan? I still want a fairly relaxed fit, and as you can see in the pic of me sitting, they fit fairly snug (in the thigh) when seated.

Thank you.

#1 - I really like the feel of the denim so I don't want to throw them away.
#2 - They look a bit better in person. They look quite nice on the backside, actually.

+1 for just buying better jeans. If you taper don't go too skinny or it will look funny because the top is pretty relaxed.

The denim is really nice - like pajama pants. Very comfortable. See if you can get them hemmed. Or try pinning them first yourself and see what happens.

Why the hate for raw denim, dood? Did you get those at the Nordstrom Rack?

Let's be realistic here - they're not ugly jeans. Just because they're not raw doesn't mean they're not worth having. I'm not sure how much you could have them slimmed and still be considered "relaxed fit," but you definitely should get them hemmed to fit you perfectly.

Yeah, they're not ugly, but they do look wide in the block, around your outer thigh beside the pocket. That could be slimmer too besides the taper.

It's amazing how nasty people become after they spend $250 on jeans. At least buying the AG's didn't turn me into an A-hole.

Brohymm, no offense to you, but we have no idea what you look like in your jeans. Repressedm, even if I did buy them at Nordstrom Rack, what difference does that make to you? Are you now superior to me? What happens if they were Nudie Jeans that I had bought at Nordstrom Rack? Would that be OK with you?

I don't hate raw denim, per se, but I don't like denim that feel rough. This material is some of the softest available.

I didn't mean that. I was just curious - I had seen some of those at Nordstrom Rack a week ago. (Nordstrom Rack is actually near the top of my budget)

OP, I don't see the pictures because I guess you got scared and removed them...but I know what jeans you're talking about because I actually have a pair that are this same cut of AG's. I got them back in me DDDs (Designer Denim Days) or my PRD (Pre-Raw Denim) days and they fit great, perfect actually. No slimming or taper necessary. Maybe you should have gotten a smaller size. Also, if you just want something that's soft and comfortable I've seen better. Face it, you just like the arcuates on your keister.

BTW, don't act surprised that you got flamed for posting pics and questions about a pair of designer jeans. It's sort of a SF rite of passage.
