i wear out the tip and heel quickly,i bought a pack of plastic heel shoe protectors, i was surprised how short the plastic heel protectors last. is there a place where i can buy metal plates and install them on my shoes itself (sunken), i would need diy type video to show me how as well.

i was thinking something like this for the tip

on a unrelated note, does anyone know where to buy the replacement rubber heels wedge that come by default on a pair of shoes? how often are those suppose to be replaced?

Don't do it yourself. Enjoy sounding like a tap dancer.

If you don't have a place that is local, send them to http://www.bnelsonshoes.com/ I would recommend against doing it yourself. It basically is trial and error or cutting at the sole, with the potential of having to deal with the welt stitching depending on the depth. I would highly recommend them if you wear out the tip of your shoe. Got my done by the local SkyValet and couldn't be happier. I only did the front.
