Should I get a gift card to Brooks Br, Saks, or Bloomies for post-xmas sale shopping?

I want to cash in some of my AMEX points for a gift card, and those are my primary choices.

Basically want to get the best bang for the buck - I'm going to try and use it at post-xmas sales and get some bargains.

When do you live? That will be one of the deciding factors on which gift card to get.

So do you think BB might have a better chance of good stuff on sale?

I'm looking for something like an 1818 for $500 or good shoes. BB always has interesting sales, so hmmm..

Off Saks are pretty crapy. And the Brooks Brothers ones are not much better, carrying mostly products that are outlet specific. And there is no Bloomingdales outlet.

So I would based the gift card decision on the retail stores. I eliminate Brooks Brothers first (I know I will hear back from some forum members on this one) because

1) Unlike Saks and Bloomingdales, you are only getting one brand of clothing at Brooks Brother stores

2) You are not the spokesperson for Brooks

However you should ignore the above recommendation if Brooks Brother clothing is your style and you've really enjoy their products.

Between Saks and Bloomingdales, I would get the Bloomingdale gift card.

With the exception of very few Saks (i.e. NY 5th, Beverly Hills), most Saks I've seen are not that much better than Bloomingdales. Moreover, Saks just has this incredible sale where most of their "good stuffs" are gone. I am not sure what Saks can offer anymore for After Chrismas Sale.
