I've been on a mission to find a decent shortwing for under $400 (under $300 would be better!), in a mid to light brown, but coming up empty. I wear jeans more often then not, except the occasional chino in the summer, so I think I should stick with a derby for this one.

    Any suggestions?

Got in a Loake Chester, but it came in the wrong color. It was a bit too clunky and squarish for me. I'd prefer something a bit sleeker.

Is tan too light? Nordstrom had AE Madison Parks in walnut for $245.

I don't think I can fit in the 10.5d, though I've been tempted to try for sure... I'm a 10.5e in AE, and the 5 last doesn't work for me in any size.

Do you have these and can you compare how they fit to other lasts?

As for tan, I've got both walnut Dalton's and a pair of Loake's that look like the AE Strand. I'm not against another pair, but i do really want to add a brown pair too.
