Shorts: What's SF-approved? All khaki shorts look the same to me. Lame

I really don't care about daytime summer fashion.
It's a futile proposition so I don't even try.
(Looking forward to fall: pants, casual jackets, ties....)

So, I wore old cargo shorts all summer.
I think SF frowns on that.
All khaki shorts look the same to me. Lame.

However, I'd like to get a new pair of "good" shorts for next summer, if there is such a thing.
Anyone have ideas and/or pics? Anything unique of stylish, or just absence of negatives?

I have some black levies docker shorts. Flat front and close fitting. DO NOT wear lose, pleated, baggy and flared shorts and the no socks boat shoes/loafers is as you say, lame lame lame.

I agree with your sentiments and tend to wear linen trousers on a casual summer weekend these days and rarely wear shorts even in the height of Houston summer, maybe with a polo shirt and driving mocs.

There is no such thing as "good" <insert any item of clothing>. THey are all the exact same except for price.

I will gladly pay $125 for shorts, provided they are stylish, unique, and distinctive (without being trashy)
If they look like $10 Target shorts, no go.

In general, above, you can replace "shorts" with any article of clothing.

No kidding, why the hell is this guy asking that question? In another thread he says he wears Canali suits but no one can tell them from Stafford or worse. So why does he make the effort? All belts are the same, all suits, all shorts...etc

Gap used to be make nice basic flat front chino shorts

but they recently moved their production location (made in Sri Lanka ones were decent)

the new batch are pretty crappy and the quality decline is obvious

Victorinox. Best shorts I ever seen & bought.
Plain and un-assuming on the outside but has multiple hidden compartments, clasps, etc.
inside and in the pockets.

Buy them during a summer clearance and you're set for next year.
