Has anybody here taken a dress shirt to a tailor to get it shortened in length? I'm wondering how complicated it would be? How much would it cost?

very easy. costs $20 at my tailor's. i'm assuming that if you're shortening the dress shirt, you want to wear it casually, as in untucked? if so, i would be aware of button placement in relationship to the length of the shirt.

Also consider a straight hem if it's to be worn casually.

Is wearing a dress shirt untucked ever correct? I can understand having the length shortened on a sport shirt you might want to wear untucked with jeans, but I can't see wearing a dress shirt untucked.
