I've never worn short sleeved button downs but recently I acquired 3 nice looking Zara shirts. Two have vertical stripped patterns and one is red plaid. I am a college students, have skinny arms and don't want to look like a dork. Do you guys think I could pull these off somehow? Maybe a black long-sleeved under? I don't want to waste them

you're likely to look like a clueless skater if you use long black sleeves

If you really like the shirts get them tailored.

Funky patterned short sleeve shirts, in my view, can be pretty good in the summer.

It seems that, just as with a good, tapered short, there are very few affordable shirts on the market with narrow sleeves.

I wouldn't worry so much about your skinny arms. I usually remedy the problem by cuffing my sleeves so they are much more fitted. Actually works a dream with my UniQlo linens.

Generally speaking I prefer long-sleeved shirts rolled up, but there's always space.

Thanks guys

They fit me pretty well so I don't need them tailored. I guess i'll be wearing them with shorts in the summer

I never wear em, but make sure there's little to no sleeve flair to avoid some nerdiness.

I bought one recently and wore it yesterday for the first time. I really like it for casual wear, and I will likely pick up a couple more.

I do this too. I bought an xl purple s/s oxford for $8 from the walmart boys section a few weeks ago. It actually fits me surprisingly well, with the exception of the sleeves which look pretty decent rolled a few times. But as with almost all cheap shirts, the collar is kinda wack.
