It exists, but it's not common.

If you are hot in a restaurant, why not avoid sweaters completely instead of looking for a short-sleeve one? :embar:

Edit: Unless by any chance you mean thin cotton knit polo shirts (short sleeves and a collar)?

If you mean thick knits:

If you're size 40 US / 50 EU, there is a knit cashmere short-sleeve sweater by Dolce & Gabbana for sale on Yoox right now (it looks like it might be mis-categorized womenswear, though, potentially).

Jil Sander produced a few different short-sleeve knits in the Spring-Summer 2012 collection. They are impossible to find now, though, and they were quite expensive -- definitely not practical everyday clothes.

I would like to try and make myself a short sleeved summer pullover (possibly using Cascade “Avalon” yarn).
I have found several patterns, but none that quite meet my expectations. I’m interested in a crew neck, the ones I’ve found appear to have either a v-neck or boat neck. Also, I’m really short but am also…I believe “fluffy” is the kind way of putting it…so I would like something that fits loose, not fitted.
I see plenty of long sleeved pullover patterns that I like, but with this being my first attempt, I have no clue as to how I could figure out how to make them short sleeved.
Anyone have any simple patterns for a “sweater newbie”?
Thanks so much for any help!!

I think you are talking about something like in the pic?..."knit short sleeve" in general are from lighter fabric weight. This can be found in cotton, merino wool, cashmere etc so you will be fine in "hot restaurants" since the fabric weight and breathability is the key part here. Even 1ply 150g cashmere can be all year round garment

Suit Supply (at least on the Chinese website) has a bunch of short sleeve knits in some versions of wool or wool-silk. I think most have a collar (similar to a polo or golf shirt) and some are more just like short sleeve sweaters.
