Since the closing of the Short Shop on Kearny Street in San Francisco, has another retailer stepped up to serve men who want to try on short-rise trousers in 29-30" length?

Mail order and online shopping have their benefits, but I want to feel the merchandise and try it on, not play "UPS volley and serve" until I get what I want.

Thank you for any leads and suggestions.

There was one in San Jose, at least on the web. I'm traveling now and my "puter is down to boot. If you can wait a week or so, I'll try and find it for you. It's called Ken's- you could try Super pages or Google.

Was it... Ken & Co Menswear 5'9 & Under 5132 Stevens Creek Blvd, San Jose, CA 95129 Phone: (408) 246-2177 ? The one time I was in SF, I spent about one minute in the Short Shop - they had a very limited selection, I thought. Was I wrong? When did it close?

Thank you. I do not recall exactly when the Short Shop closed; at least a couple of years.

In casual wear there selection WAS small. They seemed to have the best selection in suits, slacks and sport coats.

Does anyone know of other sources for "short-friendly" men's clothing in the Bay Area?

I am 5'7" (on my tall days) and weigh 150 lbs. I'm in my late 50's and trim. I do not like the way I look in the loose fit of most ready to wear clothes. In "normal" clothes, I wear a medium for shirts and sweaters, but the way things are cut these days, I often go to garments labeled "small" for the correct fit.

    Thank you, Folks.
