Shopping in Napoli

Want to go to Napoli for a few days shopping to visit the big Borrelli store and Marinella and Anna Matuozzo. I wondered, are most of the stores close to each other and is that part of Napoli safe relatively as I know the city has a bad reputation. Is it safe to walk out at night and find some nice restaurants etc? Also how many visits are required for fittings for bespoke shirts from Anna Matuozzo, can you get measured up for a few shirts over the course of 4 days?

If Foo and his wife can walk around Napoli for a vacation, I'm sure you'll be fine, cupcake.

Search for a thread by the user 'Manton' containing the word 'Naples'.

Anche se non sei Italiano, e' 'Naples', non e' 'Napoli'

Borrelli, Finamore, London House, Attolini, Scafora and others are all in the Chiaia district, together with a great hotel I can recommend, Palazzo Alabardieri. Everything is within a 5-10 minute walk from one another, with a couple of nice restaurants thrown in. The Toledo district with Solito, etc. is about a 10 minute taxi away.

The Chiaia area is decidedly upmarket and I've felt safe walking around at all hours of the day and night. Haven't spent much time around Toledo but it does appear a bit gritter, to my eye.

Going to Napoli mainly for the Borrelli and Marinella is not really the best option...
These two shops are in a several minutes walking distance from each other. Marinella was almost full of tourists and there was a line to the shop. Matuozzo is not so close. Maybe 15-20 minutes if you are walking.

As for the safety, I could not find anything bad with it. I made several walking trips late in the evening alone. Just try not to have a watch on your hand or don't show it in the streets.

Don't go, the place is a dump. Marinella sells lower quality stuffs for the Naples shop, and Borrelli is ....... Only place worth while is Anna M.

Exported. The sewing quality is noticeably different. EG Cappelli being better alternative. Personal opinion nonetheless.

i thought you had to ask to go to the better marinella shop where they'll do you bespoke. it doesnt have a shop front on the street.

Naples is a dump. All I can remember from the last time I was there was mounds of trash on the streets and people selling fake Prada sunglasses.

Pretty sure I've been there. It's right by the shop facing the street, there's an entryway leading back to essentially an apartment building. Had the fortune of a one-on-one with Maurizio, because they were technically closed but he opened it up for me.

Obviously, he was incredibly nice.

A bit unrelated, but what is he going rate for a two-piece bespoke suit from a mid-level tailor in Naples?
