A 'plug' for Ian at STF. I visited his warehouse on Friday and came away with 3 pair of Borrelli Trousers and 2 Attollini Shirts.

He has an amazing inventory, (most of which is not listed on his web site) and is happy to let you have the run of the place, with absolutely no pressure. Also about 400 pair of Santoni and Sutor's.

Competitive prices - if you live in Socal well worth a visit.

question: is the warehouse at the same location as his storefront in santa monica - or do you have to go somewhere else?

There is a lot of interesting stuff on the web,I don't like his return policy. It is credit only,it would be much nicer if we could return for a refund provided that sizes are selective.

Just last week I purchased my frist item from Ian via Ebay--a pair of cotton Borrelli pants. I would be in BIG trouble if I had regular access to his warehouse. LOL The inability to touch, feel and try items is the only thing that restrains me from click clicking my poor bank account away.

Yes, that was my same line of reasoning. They have a number of shirts that would also work just fine. Fortunately the pants fit very well (or unfortunately as now I'm tempted to purchase several more).

Stopped by STF today; this place is quite a find.

The warehouse is located behind an unmarked metal gate (3013 main st.) and I had to call Ian to let me in. Once inside, the place was in an uproar of organized chaos: jackets, suits, and shoes (Santoni and Sator mostly) were piled up all around me. Ian seems to really specialize in Neapolitan labels, so while there is a wealth of Borrelli, Attolini, Barba, and a smattering of Kiton; there was no Brioni or the like to speak of.

As others have said, Ian is a very laid back and chill guy; while he wasn't chatting with me about selvage jeans and whatnot, he basically let me have the run of the shop. I fell in love with a couple of Attolini jackets and Ian showed me a Kiton suit made of pure cashmere

, all of which were unfortunately too rich for my blood. I ended up walking away with a pair of grey Borrelli trousers ($190ish) and a linen finamore shirt ($135). If you are in Los Angeles, even for a few days, I recommend you drop in.

FWIW, I blocked off two hours thinking I would have time to spare, only to look up two and a half hours later wondering where the time went.

We need a NY branch! Online shopping is great but nothing like browsing beautiful, highly discounted clothes to provoke impulse buying

I know (I only remember one though) but that's clearly not the same thing as being able to drop by any day and browse a large inventory.
