Where is a good store or website where I can find discounted/inexpensive (200-250) dress shoes?

I am looking for black.

Style, however, I am unsure of. Maybe you could help me in deciding.

I need them for a black suit that is worn primarily to weddings, funerals and such other occasions. Wing tip? oxford? some other style? Does the suit dictate the style or does the occasion? Or is it just personal preferance?

If you need cheap shoes that won't be worn very often, try DSW if there is one in your town. Pick out something under $100 that fits your foot.

Johnston & Murphy, Bostonian and Florsheim are some lower end brands that are sold at most malls. You could easily get something under $200 there.

If you want better shoes, call the Allen Edmonds Shoe Bank in Wisconsin and ask what styles in black are on closeout. You should be able to get something under $150 that normally retails for $300 or so. Just make sure you know your size in AE...might want to try a few different pairs and send back the ones you don't like for fit reasons. I had to try several before I found a few styles that fit my foot well.

Take down the styles they tell you are on closeout and google the names for pics...they don't have a catalog of the discontinued/closeout models, unfortunately.

The ideal shoe for those events is a captoe balmoral, such as the Allen Edmonds Park Avenue:

The more decoration a shoe has, and the chunkier it is, the less dressy it is. You'll want something sleek and simple.

I would suggest something with a plain toe -- they look sleeker and more elegant to me than captoes. Perhaps the Allen-Edmonds Manhattan:

Cap toes are better than plain toe, IMO, if accounting into the fact that creases will destroy the lines of plain toes after some wear.

That doesn't happen with good quality shoes that fit.
