Better gemmed (and stitched) than wood-pegged,
if you want a 'spring in the step', that is!!!

    Typical Austro-Hungarian wood-pegged shoe wearer.

Spring in step is good (welt shoe).
Solid step shoe is good (wood peg).
    Best of both world.
    Both good.

Before this turns into another "pick on reevolving" thread... These shoes of mine get the most compliments in casual wear.

Wow, that looks like what Curt from "Glee" would wear. B

Fritzl, are you telling me you think the JLP marston is blunt nosed? I don't.

my knowledge of lasts is sketchy at best but here goes:

Not blunt nosed: JLP 8000, G&G TG73 (actually any G&G), maybe EG888 (? depends on photo) alot of the AS and many Cleverly lasts.

Blunt nosed: most A&E, alden, alot of EG, most JLP St James, ect.................................

See the thread on super tanker shoe

Some invasions, however, will only be successful if the medallion is done in the style of the "Italian look."

Since I only wear black shoes the average person doesn't tend to notice them as much. That said the only shoes with the smallest bit of color have gotten the most compliments:

those are good looking shoes. Do you mind sharing the name of the maker?

The style is called V-front. - Two or three eyelet derby, exposing a 'V' over the vamp.
