Shoes with Removable Footbed?

Due to a bad big toe I need to put a thin carbon fiber plate in one shoe. The plate needs a cushion/barrier between it and my stocking foot. Certain of my cheaper shoes (Pliner) have a removable footbed that allows me to slip the plate underneath. My nicer shoes (AE, Zegna) do not, requiring me to use a storebrought insole on top of the plate. The combination of the plate and the insole, not surprisingly, make the shoe fit quite poorly. The plate alone under the removable footbed is better.

As you might imagine, I am not pleased that all of my nicer shoes no longer fit on one foot. Equally irritating is that any new pair will suffer the same issue - if I buy big enough to accomodate the foot with the plate, the shoes will be too big for the foot without the plate - and I really don't want to put an unnecessary plate in the other foot as it is somewhat restrictive.

My question is whether anyone can identify a quality brand that generally has removable footbeds? For example, do Alden footbeds come out or any of the English brands? I suspect the answer is no, but it sure would be great.

Thanks
