shoes with grey suit at wedding

are brown wingtip or plain lace ups acceptable with a grey suit at a wedding?

are nice black loafers acceptable with a grey suit at a wedding?

I always avoid loafers (more personal preference). I would prefer the brown shoes myself.

For a moderately smart wedding, like it sounds this one is, I would wear black lace-ups with a dark grey suit or the brown with a lighter grey suit. I'd leave the loafers to another occasion.

(Actually, personally, I think I'd wear pewter museum calf with a mid-to-light grey suit, but that's by-the-by!

For an evening wedding (but on a Sunday), would you avoid the brown shoes with a grey suit and do black? Or would brown be acceptable? (Thinking about taking the Mackays for their first spin next week.)
