Shoes - which of these browns is more versatile?

I have the Church's Grafton in Nevada Ebony Calf and am considering exchanging it for the same shoes in Nevada Brown Calf. I do like the Ebony, but it's little bit darker than I'd like. However, it might perhaps be more functional than the Brown?

I realize this will be somewhat subjective, but I'd like to hear your opinions!

I like the Nevada brown better, but I'm eager to hear others' opinions.

The sandalwood is polished binder - looks nice at a glance, but on a closer look appears a little too shiny and plasticy. I saw a guy wearing a pair in that color that he said he'd had for 3 years. The creases and overall aging really didn't look very good, so I've decided to stick with calf so there are 3 option for the Grafton - black, ebony brown and nevada brown.

+1 here too. Very dark brown is versatile in theory, but not in practice.

I almost always prefer the darker brown but usually the second choice being offered is a tan. In this case I'd go with the Nevada Brown, it's still brown as opposed to tan and looks richer and deeper.

Both are nice though.

Yeah, I had a pair of Church's in sandalwood that ended up in the goodwill bin after two or three wears. The polished binder, particularly in that color, has no depth or character - it just sort of looks like waxy caramel.

The darker the better.

Checked out both colors in the store today and I think the darker ebony actually looks better in person.
