Sounds like the Op is looking for sleek Italian shoes as opposed to a more rounded English look. Anybody stock Marteganis in NYC? That might be the answer.

From what i've seen, Ferragamos tend to be in the 500-600 range.

If you're asking the question, I'd steer away from buying online until you are more versed in lasts and sizing.

In-store C&J will exceed your budget. Ed's CT Loake's is a good suggestion. You might also consider hitting Barney's Warehouse sale later this week.

Yeah, i'm an idiot. They will be worn with suits for work.

This is correct. I am slim and short with really broad shoulders/chest and I find that shoes like AEs look sort of funny on me.

martegani will be over $400, I think Dino Baldini carries them. In your budget, check Boticello (or something like that), pretty much exact copies of popular models from Gucci/Ferregamo etc.

I will try this. Last time I went they had very little and the stuff they did have was all size 13 narrow or something like that.

Try the Ferragamo outlet in the Woodbury outlet mall. Most are $200-400. Check for Tramezza, that's Ferragamo's top of the line. Call ( 845-9287116) the store for special sales and save even more.

Find the shoe you like and ask the SA to search nationwide for the shoe in your size.
They have very good customer service.

that sounds great. I'll definitely try that. Should I even bother with the ferragamo store in nyc? do they ever have sales?

Go to shopthefinest.com, they have good shoes with nice prices, like Sutor, Borrelli, Santoni and Tom Ford 60% off.

I've been there three times and you are correct, the problem is always the size. If you are 10 and lower will be easy for you. Call them before you go. That's was based on my personal experience.
