hi there.

yesterday i found some nice shoes in my fathers closet.
he said that he owned them for 20 years. he never used shoetrees and never
really took care of them he also never got new soles for them...
they are longwings with a heavy rubber sole.

the thing is, i really like them and since longwings are pretty hard
to get in germany i wanted to get them "renewed". (new insoles, double leather soles,
get the shoe in new shape...)

they also have some dents...they look like too many people stepped on his toes

is that actually possible?

regards eric

20 years of neglect will be difficult to reverse, but if your father wore them for that long they should be of decent quality. Do you know the maker? Some companies (like Allen Edmonds) offer the sort of recrafting you're looking for. Recrafting would certainly help, but nothing is going to "renew" those shoes to their former glory.
