Hey guys!

I'll be in Vienna tomorrow and I'm looking to buy some shoes/boots that will go well with a striped navy suit (and also with anything else, looking to give them more use after, I mostly use denim jeans).
Need something warm and comfy to wear. Was thinking about getting some black Chelsea boots, you think it'd be a good idea?

My budget is tops 300-400€, looking to get as much quality as I can for that value!

Thank you in advance!

Ludwig Reiter: I own a couple of pairs over 15 years old.
They are bullet-proof.

Thirding Ludwig Reiter. I have a pair of Budapesters in scotch grain and they're practically indestructible. Also, their Vienna store has a painting of Schubert in one of the rooms, which is always welcome.

Do those usually have a good sole so that it doesn't slip on wet floor? They'll be used in pretty bad weather so that's one of my main concerns.

The Budapesters have tread soles, yes.
It's raining here in Boston right now and I've been wearing them out and they're virtually waterproof.

Perfect, thank you!

Do you know anything about the "all terrain" soles? Will they perform better than the "rubber" soles?

The two RTW offerings they have with different soles have different widths, so I would go try them both in person and choose the one that fits your foot better rather than worrying about minor differences in the sole; I'm sure both of them perform similarly well in foul weather.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
