How about Stapleton (I think that's the name) near Wall St?

With your budget, just go to Century 21. The one down across from the WTC site has the most shoes.

So I'm assuming a lot of these stores are in the financial district?

Do you actually live in New York City? Like the one that is in New York? If you live in Soho there are a billion places up and down broadway that I am sure you can find something.

I live by Soho, but I'm a freshman college student. Really haven't checked it out, do you guys recommend anything?

... Soho has bloomingdales and lots of other shoe stores.

You might want to head up to madison ave/park ave/5th avenue area for higher end shoes if that's what you're looking for.

Nordstrom Type Store = Go to Saks Fifth Avenue or Barneys

I'm not from NYC, but I agree there are numerous options from department stores to boutique type shops. I suggest taking some time to visit as many as possible. Bring a notepad and take some notes. Look at shoes even if they are outside your price range so you can compare the differences in quality and design. It doesn't hurt.

Stapleton is probably the lowest priced in the city.

For those of you in the know, I couldn't resist. I apologize.
