I recently began working as a clothing salesman, and it is part of my job to be standing all day, sometimes as long as 10 hours. As a college student, I don't have a huge budget, but I'd like to find a pair of shoes that are comfortable enough too stand in all day with too much pain so my question is what are some options? (I will be wearing the shoes with trousers)

    Thanks in advance

Sorry, but if your price range is $100, your feet are going to hurt all day no matter what you buy.

Maybe you are trying to be sarcastic, but this statement is false.

There are many comfortable shoes in the $100 price range and cheaper. They may not be "sartorially superlative" but they will get the job done. There are many decent looking Rockports, Eccos, Clarks etc. that are comfortable. You will also be able to find some rubber soled Allen Edmonds in the $100-150 price range.

As far as "on your feet all day comfort" is concerned, OP is as likely to find it in this price range as in any other.

It's not a question of superlativeness. The guy is a clothing salesman; depending on where he works, he cannot be caught in a suit and Eccos and expect to be taken seriously. In my experience, leather-soled shoes for <$100 use thinner matierals and fewer layers in their construction which renders them much less comfortable over long periods of time. Simple as that.

He needs to combine form with function, not sacrifice one to the other.

If you're going with sneakers PF Flyers are really comfortable.

One way to reconcile your 3 objectives (looks, cost, comfort) is to buy a discounted pair of Allen Edmonds (albeit around $150 +) and add an orthotic such as a Power Step slim-tech (on Ebay for about $15).

Rockports are not bad if you can find a good style.

Buy a pair of good leather shoes and get some of those comfort insoles.
