I got invited for wedding next summer and dress code is dark suit. I have all black suit with white shirt and I think I will buy grey tie/white pocket square combo because that is part of the dress code if I'm not mistaken. Only problem is that I don't have any idea what kind of shoes I should wear. I have been searching the internet for a while and found out that black leather oxfords are the way to go so I ordered a pair.
Today I found out that since there are many different kind of oxfords on market, all of them might not be suitable for dark suit events. The ones I bought are like if you search ''Giorgio 1958 batisfera nero'' , but in all black version. They have this huge toe cap or whatever it is and most men use oxfords with no cap at all what I have seen in such events.
Did I just buy wrong kind of shoes or are those still inside the dress code?

Toe cap oxfords are perfectly acceptable. Not even at the opera would they be inappropriate.
