Also, what style/color of shoe would go best with something like this?

    Thanks,
    John

A straight tip (i.e. no medallion, brogue or other decoration) captoe shoe. The suit is DB and therefore inherently dressy-spread collar and no buttondown obviously. No blucher or wingtip. As to color, most on this forum would say very dark brown and some would say tan but others who are hidebound (like this writer) would say black. The length and number of threads on this forum about wearing (or not wearing) brown shoes with navy suits is, to put it mildly, substantial.
