but how about the other brands that are available on pediwear?
which brand is worth looking at given that they can be bought at a cheaper price compared to C&J?

All of them. The Barker International lines and Alfred Sargent Premier are IMO about equal, with the loakes a tad behind but not much. Grenson Rose might just have the edge on the others, but the differences in quality are pretty marginal.
