Last week I purchased some expensive Gortex tough leather sturdy walking shoes In the store they felt great but later after walking for an hour I got pain on my right toe joint. The skin rubbed off, too! The store says that my right foot is too narrow for the shoe. I do not know if that is correct. I tried both smaller and larger sizes and could feel the upper crease digging into my toe. The store also put an extra insert in and that did not make it any better; maybe it was even a little worse. Thicker socks did not help either. I want to keep these shoes. What can I do to make this issue go away? Are creams/oils effective? Could a cobbler do something? If I wear them for like 15 minutes a day for say a month will it get better? It doesn't seem like it will. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
