Just got a new set of AE wingtips, and when I tried them on they fit great. Not too snug, not too loose, same feel as any other shoe I own. I should've walked around in them a little, but I digress. When I got to walking around in them today, I could feel the leather in the cap compressing into my toes, and noticed that it was flexing and creasing in the cap area as I stepped. Attached are some photos to show what I am talking about. Also shown are another set of wingtips I have from a different brand, with no creasing in the toe area when I walk. The photos shown are with my foot in them mid-step, showing the point where they start to crease. Are they too small, are the shoes defective, what are your thoughts?

    Thanks in advance.

My advice would be to go back to the AE store and ask about the issue. To my eye, it looks like those shoes are too long for your foot. That looks like the 8 last McClain, which has a pretty narrow and long last. It looks like you sized up to get the right fit width-wise, but it's too long now. Post your pictures and questions in the AE Appreciation thread to get other opinions.
