Shoe resole question

I posted this at AAAC, but I was hoping to get more responses here.
I want to resole a pair of Ferragamo shoes but want to replace it with the original Ferragamo sole. My local high end stores which carry Ferragamo do not do this.

Is there a way to resole it with the original sole? I prefer to have this done locally if anyone knows a place(I live near Toronto, Canada). Or, maybe a place in Canada where I can send it?

ALSO: Is it possible to resole a rubber sole with a leather one?

No. Have a better sole than the original Ferragamo sole installed.

Yes, if it is a Dainite sole.

So, I contacted Ferragamo customer service. Apparently it is not possible to order the original soles from Ferragamo. I cant even order it form Italy. I have to say that I am very disappointed. Im not sure if other manufacturers allow customers to order original soles. I hope not, or else I have two reasons to be disappointed with Ferragamo.

What is your obsession with putting the original sole back on?

Most likely the original sole on the shoe was ****. Solution: buy the exact pair of shoes, rip the sole of with pliers, super glue onto new shoe.

Shoe makers that specialize in high end (not necessarily high fashion) shoes will usually overhaul and resole shoes for you with original parts. Alden, Edward Green, John Lobb, Allen Edmonds, heck even Cole Haan will all do this for you.

Generally, shoe makers who specialize in "fashionable" shoes - Gucci, Ferragamo, etc. intend for the shoes to be more or less disposable. Since they aren't necessarily in the business of making "classic" shoes, generally by the time the sole wears out the shoe is either shot to hell or out of fashion. Therefore there isn't a lot of call for resoling, especially not with the original sole.

Not intending to be a smart ass, but why is this important to you?
