Currently, Sierra Trading Post is running a fall sale.  Roughly $200 for a pair of Bruno Magli's on sale.  I know they ain't the best made shoes but I need a few pairs to change(so I don't wear out my more favored shoes), plus they are leather soles.  It appears Bruno Magli uses a spray on wax coat on their's uppers.  I think I can refinish them.    Does acetone remove this spray on coat?  The rest of the coloring, antiquing, burmishing, that part I think I can handle.

Do you even think it's worth buying?
    Thanks
