I bought these Grenson Masterpieces (pic below) from Chris a few months ago. The other day I got caught walking in one of those tropical rain storms that just comes in, raises hell for 10 minutes and then leaves. The shoes got discolored creases as a result. I put a little blackc polish to darken them, and then took them to a cobbler for a professional shine. He suggested I might want to die them dark brown to get the lighter creases out. Part of me wants to do it, but part of me thinks the light creases give it kind of an antiguing effect.

I apologize for the poor shot, as I shot it with my celphone and don't own an oriental rug

. but if you look at them you can see the creases.

I'm tempted to wear them a while as is, let them age and see how the patina develops. Thoughts?

I agree with your plan. You could always dye them later if you decide you're unhappy, but I'd definitely hold off on that if it were me.

The real question is, if you are anything like me, do the creases bother you? If yes you will need to do something about them.
Otherwise I'd say let them age gracefully
