i've read what I could here and elsewhere. so sorry if this is terribly repetitive, but I'm on a learning curve here.

I just got some Saphir Medaille D'OR which I have not used before.

    1. Do I exclusively this? apply then wipe / buff say with an old t -shirt? This stuff is in a can so I assume it is a wax / polish and not a conditioner or cream. (Currently i use the tube of polish sent from Allen Edmonds on my other shoes.)

    2. The brush, why the brush as opposed to soft cloth?

    3. do i need to get some shoe cream in addition to what i have and use both regularly?

Any tips would be appreciated, while i break in some new Martegani's

Here's a helpful thread on Saphir:

The T-shirt method is perfectly fine for applying the polish. Works great for me. The brush helps to buff up the shine, but I don't use one.

In addition to polish, I like to use leather conditioner periodically. Some say this is unnecessary, but it certainly doesn't hurt. Makes a big difference on a pair of thin leather shoes I have.

Shoe cream and polish work a bit differently. Here's a link to an article at Ask Andy: http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/C..._shoeshine.htm
