Shoe leather options

Besides calfskin and shell cordovan, what other shoe leathers are frequently used for shoes? Smooth appearance is preferred over reptile skin..... suggestions?

Kangaroo is a smooth, very durable shoe leather. Most MLB at one time where made of kangaroo.

i asked this question aaac i have had a look at somke leather yesterday
1=sea turtle
2-toad
3-deer (very nice super soft)
4=elephant (still wait to see sample)

all of which are different also some suggusted eel but that look sos os to me but the other are nice and different!!

where did the leather come from?! discards from an exotic kitchen?!

Would you not feel like a murderer wearing an elephant? And aren't sea turtles endangered? Or is it a joke I don't understand?

The deer is real i own a pair of Magnanni Ebro's made of deer/calfskin. Ive seen pig as well.

I have a pair made of deer skin. Very soft and have a texture very similar to cordovan.

I like calf best but also own croc, gator, buffalo, and deer (loafers only). I hope soon to add reindeer...

I dislike pig and despise ostrich.

I draw the line at all the endangered species including the vintage stuffs that were made before the ban. Endangered species are still being harvested in many countries, their governments either don't enforce the ban or turn the other way because of corruption. That's a real shame.

Seriously, American bison is a wonderful leather. It's very soft, like deer, but wears better. Give it a look.
