I have floated around this forum on and off for about a year, though have never really needed any help until now.
I from New Zealand and as such our retail scene is flooded with cheap and over priced clothing which seriously suffers from a lack quality in pretty much every department.
I have been searching for a decent pair or work shoes and refuse to pay the kinds of prices stores here are asking for the quality of the products with 90-95% originating in the likes of India/ China etc and anything with a brand has a similar quality but 3x the price.
At this stage, I am mainly looking for some new work shoes. I am quite tall and lean and therefore tend to wear slim dress pants and as such am looking for a narrower shoe, anything too wide looks too heavy, especially on my small 41 sized feet
.
I have searched and eveything referring to shoes returns about 10K results of european brands/ styles I have never heard of and so I though someone maybe able to give me a few opinions specifically to my needs.
While I am after a good style and quality, I would in a consultancy side of the construction industry and therefore some times find myself in environments other than a clean office and so spending silly amounts on top quality shoes isn't really feasible.
Down to it.
I was originally looking into some Ted Bakers, but read on here they are pretty average. Then a pair of Hugo Boss's and again mixed reviews.
Names I have heard a bit of around here with generally good reviews are brands such as Magnanni & Meermin, which look to be about in my price range for work shoes and look like they are pretty decent quality, with the Magnanni offering a slightly narrower fit.
Where is the best place to look to buy these online, and what other brands could I consider? I am looking for a narrow most preferably pointed toed cognac lace up and black lace up pair.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys,
T
