Shoe heel wear - Options for Allen Edmonds Clifton

I have an out toe (duck foot) walk and I wear the back, outside of my heals very quickly. The picture is of my current poor quality shoes. I am looking at purchasing some nicer shoes and have learned a lot from the posts here.

I have a pair of Allen Edmonds Dark Brown Clifton that I am considering (purchased from Nordstrom's on sale, but have not worn). Is there anything that can be done to the heal of the shoe that would help this area to wear slower. I am not looking for them to change the way I walk, just wear a lot slower in this area. I will be wearing them for work in an office setting (and I plan to take better care of them than the pair in the picture!)

Also, I notice on the AE website, that the Clifton's appear to be discontinued 6/2008 if I read their "shoe care reference guide" properly. I just purchased a pair from Nordstrom's a couple days ago. Could these still be stock from 2008? Anything to worry about?

(flash washed out the picture)

Thank you!

You could have a cobbler put on a heel tap.

Thank you for the reply. I think this is exactly what I was looking for. I did not know about them.

Here is a link to a good thread on this site in case anyone else is interested.

Thank you again for the response.

Cheers!
