1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

hey guys. buying my first pair of "nice" shoes. only problem? they are only sold overseas in Europe so i have to order sight unseen (Herring).

that said, does it make sense to go get measured on a Brannock prior?

    thanks.

Go try on some Allen Edmonds (Edit; realised you may not live in the U.S so any reputable brand that could be used as a reference) if you can then let the people you're buying the Herrings from know your best fitting size/last.

Also, post that info here and I'm sure someone will offer advice on sizing

what are your thoughts on the difference between the shortened almond toe and the shortened round toe?

I was ordering my first pair on the Almond toe last, but after discussions with Riccardo we decided to round off the toe a bit, which came out really great. I know he has got a bunch of orders from people who want to have the same modification to the almond toe last after seeing my pair, and I think that Riccardo started suggesting it to some customers as well who have a hard time deciding between Classic round and Almond toe. I'm not sure what you mean with shortened round toe?

on your website you call it the shortened almond toe last

may you please post a top down photo of your two pairs of "rounded/shortened" almond toe lasted shoes?

    Thanks!
