1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Something about an artisan working with a set of skills, performing a task by hand and creating a beautiful item that appeals to me.

Heard some good things about their boots. Look rugged and rough... just as they should be.

It could be argued that DW is just a cussed, reactionary old dinosaur, and bluntly resistant to modernisation and efficiency as a reasonable end in itself.

It could also be argued that this is his value to mankind. [IMG]

I agree. Yet somehow they have some elegance to them as well. Or maybe not elegance, but friendliness. I'm not sure you'll know what I mean, but they're nice rather than mean looking. Sorry for getting carried away by my own boots. :)

(I noticed the JPEG conversion made the pics less red/saturated; the bottom pictures show the colour better.)

Excuse for the simple question but I just try to understand; Why many of you treat the toe/heel with a darker polish to create such a different/patina effect?. Do you really think is so nice?. I have never done it ( no different colour/patina treatment in any of my shoes) but I am just thinking to move forward with one pair and see the results myself. I might consider it. Thanks.

I don't think anyone would do that if they didn't think it looked nice. And anyone who doesn't like the look should probably avoid it. Choice is good. I like it.

Edward Green and their customers think so. Most of my shoes straight from Edward Green use the same treatment. I think it looks good.
