1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Agree on this, definitely looks like chromexcel. Would explain the confusion too, many people think Horween=Only cordovan.

    Cheers Gianni!

Why? They can't be polished with way/creme polish - I have to use Renovateur. The polish up like shell. They have no creases but rolls. The colour is a shell standard colour. They are reasonably waterproof.

Chromexcel is stuffed full of grease and oil. Most chromexcel shoes do not take a high shine, my Rancourt penny loafers being an exception. Reno is probably removing some of the oil from the surface, allowing them to take a shine. Probably not a good idea in the long term, as it is the stuffing that makes chromexcel such a tough leather.

+1. The creases I see and the way the toe and other wear points look really suggest Chromexcel. Also Chromexcel is a very common leather for boat shoes.

I would not use Reno on these due to reasons stated in the above post. The leather looks like it could use some reconditioning to get the oils back. Horween suggests neetsfeetoil or Venetian for Chromexcel and both work well.

    Meister, those aren't rolls - they're creases.

    Here are rolls:

I would highly recommend Obenauf's HDLP or Montana Pitch Blend - get that beeswax.

Hey friends here is the skin of my next Gladietor Bespoke Bestetti. It is French calf.

At the end I told Bestetti not finish my shape because I was still undecided on the tip. I did not know if it square or round. But in the end I will make the chisel tip. And how colors instead I kept the ones I had decided.

That cognac and whiskey. I look forward to the finished shape is to try the shoe test. So I can update on the developments.

And here is the final outcome ..... now sent me these pictures and I could not hold them all for me ... I wanted to show them ... what do you think?
