I've had great luck with the to boots. I get some pretty crazy deals on them so i'm not paying retail, but i've been really happy with the style and comfort of them. the lincoln's in the back row are just stupidly beautiful in person and the leather is butter soft with a cap that just pops when its shined well.

The Cleverley toe is something. Still like the OTT Bestetti toecaps though.

toe shape is too extreme for me. do not like.

overall execution is great, though.

McArthur: Over the calf argylls? Where from? Love OTC socks but finding a reasonably priced selection, or anything unusual, can be difficult. Tips?

Thank you all for the comments on the AC's (alas my putting remains atrocious with them on)

The toe is pretty extreme - agree with Fritzl that it is a bit too extreme. Have some semi-bespoke captoes that are slightly less 'pointy' which to me are more pleasing in shape - but not nearly as nice in finish

Am contemplating my first ever bespoke pair of cleverleys (am thinking of black captoes, to go with the other ten pairs...) and I would definitely ask them to tone it down compared to the ACs
