Belgrave is 381 GBP from Bodileys shipped to India. 381 GBP is 4580 HKD. Comparable Carmina is around 4200 HKD shipped to India. Westfield is 284 GBP which is 3400 HKD.

Interesting. I'm comparing prices direct from Carmina - they run in the neighborhood of 320 euros each. CJ benchgrades run in the neighborhood of 320 pounds each. Given the exchange rate this makes Carmina a bit less than CJ benchgrades in US dollars given the exchange rates.

320 euros is a great price delivered. How much do they charge for shipping and did you get a customs bill ?

I didn't get a customs bill with my recent order via Carmina's website. If I remember correctly, the calf shoes were 262 euro, plus 40 euro for shipping, for a total cost of 302 euro (or about $395 usd).

I did not include shipping charges - just the retail price of the item. In my case another SF member and I had a combined order of 8 pairs, had them shipped standard mail and paid no customs bill. As I didn't coordinate the purchase I don't know precisely what the shipping charges were. In any case the shipping from Spain to the US would have to be very comparible to the shipping from the UK to the US.

Can you provide some comparative info on fit? Also, did they deduct the VAT from your bill?

I am just starting to learn about lasts...they did deduct VAT from my purchase, but I placed the order through the Carmina account.

The Rain last is slightly wider than the Simspon last, which was too tight across the vamp. I haven't compared it to the length of C&J 348 or 341, or my EG for RLPL Brooksville.

Will post pictures later, but I got the Carmina's a 1/2 size larger to ensure fit. They are a little loose.

Look up this thread a page or two - I posted pictures of the Simpson last side by side with C&J 348. The Simpson in the pic is a half size larger than the C&J 348 and yet the 348 is still a smidge longer.

I just received shoes in both Rain and Simpson and did not notice any width difference upon initial investigation between my two pairs. But my foot runs just a smidge narrow so I rarely have width issues in general. I hope to do some more detailed photos today which may help as well.

Hey Gdot, I was responding to Burton. Your reply should be helpful to him. I've had both Simpson and now Rain last. I can definitely tell the difference. The Simspon's had some wear, but still hurt my foot by day's end.

Very interesting about the differences in the lasts. I appreciate your experiences. I've not worn either of mine for more than a couple of minutes yet - keeping them 'fresh' until I can shoot some better porn! :fistbump:

Sorry if my post sounded 'pushy'. Upon rereading it I felt I could have worded it a bit better.

gyasih -- do you mind me asking... what aspect or element of the shoe and/or fit made them "hurt"? Just curious (I've only tried on the Robert and Forest lasts).
