Not used much at all now. It was a popular Cowboy Boot leather up to the 1970's (I believe). At that time, Tony Lama Boot company purchased several thousand hornback skins & had 1/2 assembled a ton of boots when they were raided by the FBI. It seems they had bought the skins from illegal smugglers in Mexico who had used fraudulent documentation to get them out of their native Brazil.

    Pretty sad.

I figure a Good Dad can only allow himself 1 real thing that's "just for himself". Anymore & you will probably end up missing a LOT of important things in the kids' lives... first words, walking, plays, sporting events, etc. The Shoe thing allows me to enjoy a thing I love, as well as spending time doing it at home.

Isshi, you really ought to found a museum for these rarities. If you haven't the time, I'm willing so sacrifice a drawer or two when yours fill up. In the meantime, do keep posting.

Saphir: every forum has a troll or two. Just trying to figure out whether you're real or...something else entirely.

I knew we had to get that shoe circle idea from somewhere. The mystery has been solved!
