At first I had to search them out. Now, I am often approached about specific items. Maybe half find their way to my home that way.
How many shoes total do you have?

WAAAAAY too many.
My personal collection is at around 55 pairs. I HAD promised myself to never go over 30 pairs, but Meister introduced me to Vintage Shoes last year, and now I'm FULLY addicted. There ain't no Methadone for Shoe Addiction. BUT, it's better than porn, gambling or unfaithfulness.
At my office I have around 100 pairs of various Eras, Styles & sizes. I eventually sell anything that doesn't fit me or fit my "personal style". Before that, however, I study & take notes & pictures to learn more about them. I also like to experiment with various creams, polishes & conditioners to see how they work with various leather types and ages/ conditions.
I've also taken my table saw to a quite a few pairs to get a look at the construction.
Around a year ago, during a spirited SF debate on construction & quality, someone asked me, "What the [email protected]
