1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

They are hand welted: welt is attached to insole by hand, (this step cannot be seen on the finished shoe).
The out-sole gets stitched to the welt by a hand-cranked machine. This is the row of stitching you can see
    running along the welt.

Other terminology: in-soling by hand (1:45), out-soling by machine (2:50).

Apologies that it took so long to post these. I have always wanted a pair of the Sandringhams and was able to make the purchase last week. Thanks, as always, to Steven at Leffot for great service.

Someone here wrote that the Sandringham is the most American EG shoe, I would have to disagree. This is a very English country shoe with a mixture of calf and grain. The color is Bauxite Antique with a Rosewood country calf vamp and a thistle. Yes, I like them quite a bit.

The vamps are scotch grain. The quarters, counter and toe cap are full grain calf. The thistle is air.
