Who says Gunboats have to be overly chunky?

In the 40's, they made Grain leather wingtips with the requisite 360 degree storm welt. Gunboats to be sure. They're just much more streamlined & shapely. Oxfords rather than bluchers helps, too.

1940's Grain wingtips by Banister... NOS of course.

If you go to the sale you know what to look for (12/12.5E) :)

Man I'd love to but honestly - I'll have a stinking hangover and the place will be rammed to the hilts. I can't face it.

93605 is the Imperial Burgundy Shell Longwing. Yes, a good line. They used different colors of ink for the markings, no great meaning there. Production number indicates late 70s or so.

It wasn't me. I would never buy vintage for that price and shipping to Portugal without knowing exactly what it is.

Those uppers look very nice & clean. Also, it's a Medium ("D") width. All in all, not a bad buy for the winner. That same shoe by Florsheim (Ducky Brown) or AE will cost more than 3x that... and the leather would be inferior.
