I think that the Riva last is really elegant, as the showed monks demostrate.
I polished my black shoes this evening and felt like showing them off I guess. Not sure if they qualify as porn but I was proud of my efforts.
Allen Edmonds - Park Avenues
Crockett & Jones - Worcester
I use wax on the AEs and cream on the C&Js.
Sigh, I know tchoy and I apologize to anyone who is following this thread for making a comparison between the two. Like you said, you bought the EGs to wear with casual wear, and considering the intent I retract the comparison I made because it is comparing apples with oranges. You now have two pairs of shoes, which I'm sure are members of a collection of many more shoes, that I would feel very fortunate to own and wear.
The Allens are beautifull, but i hate the color black on shoes .
You must have misunderstood me. I was trying to say my preference it's the rounded toe than the chiselled toe.

Thank heavens we are back to photos of new shoes.

Mexican made Sea Turtle Monks? Ostergators?
^Made in USA
Up next: Rider MTO oxfords in Horween's rare mahogany shell cordovan, blake/rapid structure, swansneck detail, dainite soles and a storm welt. The shine and colour on these is otherworldly (notice how the shade changes with less sunlight). The last picture has me giving a wave to SF members, especially srivats.
Spoiler: Warning: Spoiler!
^one of ron's best shoes I think
Ron Rider's success shows you that hands-on work with your product is PRICELESS in terms of really learning your business, what your clients will want, and how to satisfy those wants.
I still remember the Monks I sent him to antique a couple of years ago.. The cost was RIDICULOUSLY low, if he was in it to make money, he was wasting his time. He was, however, gaining valuable experience working with shoes & the men who love them so much... many of whom are his clients today.
Almost the same as mine suede Santoni monkstraps.
Santoni can do traditional styles tastefully and quite well (their Goodyears are very solid & well made), and should not be stuck with a "fashion-forward-only brand" label. These dub monks are evidence of this.
